Friday's Letters

Ahhhh it's finally Friday & I couldn't be more ready! Here's my lovely letters for today!

Dear Friday, you've been good so far. Let's keep it up! Today you marked 22 weeks of pregnancy, there was Spring fling luncheon at work (but off site!), I got a starbucks, and tonight I get to see my mom after two long months! Dear husband, you're great, bottom line. You know me better than anyone else on this plant and your patience, kindness, and love for me are truly something else. Thank you for our sweet date last night! Sharing my 1st Jurassic Park experience with you was great! (Yes, I never saw it as a child. No, I don't regret it. Those dinos are scary stuff!) Dear sweet baby girl, I love you so much. I love your sweet little kicks throughout the day, and I love that in 18 weeks (roughly), I'll be your mom officially! Dear Macy, I promise to do my best to not neglect you once your sister (haha yes, sister) is here! You'll always be my silly fur-baby. Dear God, thank you for being the one who holds our future in your hands. So much hangs in the balance right now as we wait on phone calls, timelines, and meetings. Thank you for having plans that are perfect for my life and for being the ultimate planner. Dear weekend plans, you continue to stress me out. I've come to the realization that I will just never please everyone...and it stinks. (I'm a huge people pleaser!) Someone will always be let down by me...and this pregnant girl, can't handle the stress of that. It's literally brought me to tears. Dear people, (yes people in general) when I share something like, "I love feeling her kick during the day", I don't appreciate responses like "just wait till she's kicking your ribs" or "you say that now, just wait". This is just an example, but it seems like people enjoy taking your moments of joy away...I know they don't mean to, and I know I'm more sensitive now, but I don't like it. Why rob me of the sweet joy of feeling my little girl move around? Random, but I needed to say that.  Dear husband, our trip in the Target baby section was hilarious and I'll never forget this conversation:

A:Why are there so many car seats of different sizes?
Me: Because they stay in a car seat until like 70lbs.
A: No way. So my 5th grader is gonna be in a car seat? So we have to buy more than one?
Me: Yeah, we buy one for when they're an infant and one when they're a toddler.
A: Then let's go ahead and get this big one. It's adjustable down to really small.
Me: So when I take her out in public, I'm gonna have to lug around a big chair basically?
*we bust out laughing"

O the things we have ahead of us. I love that we are on this journey together! Love you baby!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday! I'm so happy this week is plugging along and can't wait til this weekend! After a few months, I finally get to visit with my mom and hopefully our sweet girl will keep up her crazy kicking so mom can feel her :) I'm linking up with Jamie today to share What I'm LOVING this week!

I'm LOVING...

- the energy I have had to knockout solid workout this week! I'm doing good about not pushing myself too hard and watching my heart rate with my heart rate monitor, but I tuly love the feeling after a workout! And judging from peanut's movements when I'm done, she does too!

- my Magic Bullet! This thing is awesome! I whipped up a strawberry banana smoothie before work yesterday in literally 2 minutes and it was such a good breakfast!

- Zesta crackers! I know that's super random, but that's pregnancy for you! They just taste sooooo good! The eatery in my office building has them and everytime one of my girlfriends gets food downstairs, they bring me a bunnch of crackers!

-homemade chocolate chip cookies! I've been on baking spree lately, including multiple batches of chocolate chip cookies and a banana bread bundt cake (no picture because it wasn't pretty, but it was good!)

-Macy, as always! I swear she get's funnier and cuter everyday! Here's a new spot she discovered this week! A tiny window sill in our house...goof ball!

-all the suport my city has gotten within the last week! I've never seen so many stand behind Boston and it makes me even more proud to call it home (even if it's only "home" in my heart now)

On another note (and maybe this is pregnant me needing a moment to vent), here's something I'm NOT loving this week:

-people telling me 1.) they still don't believe I'm pregnant 2.) "wow, I still can't see it yet!" 3.) "how far along are you? wow, I would have said 3 months"...etc etc. Get the picture? I read an article the other day saying that pregnant women don't want to be told they are too big OR too small...it's getting old to me. Yes, I'm grateful not to be big yet, mostly because I'll be pregnant almost the entire summer, so I can wait. But to hear I still don't look pregnant, when I feel her move all the time, when some of my pants don't fit, etc, is not a great feeling either. Also, FYI, when you are having your first baby, you're physically fit, and you're tall, there's a solid chance you won't pop right away...ok sorry, thanks for bearing with me!

An alternative would be "Wow, you look great!" "Pregnancy suits you!" "You're doing so great with working out and staying healthy"...just FYI.

Back to what I'm LOVING..

-my Husband! (saved the best for last!) Poor guy goes through the ringer some days with this pregnancy, or so it feels. (although he has said overall, I've definitely been low key compared to stories he has heard). He does his best to guess what I'm hungry for, read my emotions, etc. More than anything, he's been a great rock. He lets me have my moments where I just need a good cry. He's going to be a great dad. He talks to our sweet girl everyday and I LOVE it.

Ok, that's my list for now! Hope everyone has a good hump day!

Friday Letters!

In honor of returning to my blog after a small hiatus (explained in yesterday's post - with a great reason behind it! ) I am returning to the tradition of Friday's letters!

Dear Friday, it is so good to see you again! I am VERY ready for another weekend at home, catching up on house stuff, and attacking our spare bedroom which desperately needs some organization. Dear husband, what a crazy ride we are on right now! I feel like the weeks continue to fly by and yet here we are with 1000 plans ahead and a few big ones we are hoping God blesses and helps fall into place! I'm so glad to be on this journey with you! Dear baby Hahn,  this is your very first letter! You are at 20 weeks today and measuring the size of a banana! I love you so much already, I can't even believe it! I also completely love the name we have for you (her name is a surprise for when she gets here!). I can't believe in just another 20-ish weeks you will be here! Dear Texas weather,  thank you for being chilly this week! I am greatly enjoying any and all cold fronts we have until the summer heat arrives (and never leaves...). Especially considering I'm due at the end of August! I'll take all the relief I can get! Dear Macy, my sweet fur baby, thank you for continuing to be an adorable sweet cat! The fact that you genuinely were intrigued with the dogs running on tv this week was absolutely hilarious. Dear husband, I just want you to know how proud I am of you! For so many things! God's got great plans for you! I love that this week we are resting in that hope :)

See what I mean? So precious!

To say it's been a while would be an understatement!

Happy Wednesday Blog World! I cannot believe it's been 4 months since my last post! Maybe once I explain how the last 4 months have gone, you'll understand...

...Let's go back a ways:

The last time I blogged, Christmas was fast approaching, I was just starting a new job and it seemed like once January hit, we'd be able to relax for a while...yeah, that didn't happen..at all.

To save you from a long blog post of playing catch up, I wanted to include a lot of pictures to recap since December.

First of all, Christmas was great! Andrew battled a nasty cold almost the entire time, but we had such a great time with all of his family, as well as most of mine (still missed the parents and brother!) We took lots of pictures, made lots of great memories, and really enjoyed ourselves. Andrew and I even brought Macy along for our week long stay in Houston. I get most people might bring their dog, but not a cat, but she's our baby and a week was just too long to leave her! She had a great time at my grandma's house and my family fell in love with her on Christmas Day when everyone came over. Here's some pictures to recap our wonderful Christmas!

Our Christmas Tree at home!

Fun seafood restaurant Andrew and & and his sibs went to!

Andrew and his brother roasted a pig for Christmas Eve!

Andrew and his cousin on Christmas Eve

One of my sweet nephews!

Me and one of my sister in laws on Christmas Eve!

We got these AWESOME shirts which we wore Christmas morning

While we were there, we took family pictures. Here's one of the hubby and his siblings!

Our New Year's Eve fun with my family! A game of quarters!

Ok that all was all pretty standard Christmas fun and great memories! Well, this is where the craziness begins...it was the Friday before New Years (December 30th) and my sister in law were chatting in my in-laws living room, the rest of the girls (sis in laws and mother in law) were throughout the house, the nephews were playing, and the guys were helping their grandma with a project at her house...my sister in law and I were both joking about how we were "late". I figured it was no big deal for me because of my low-ish body weight and the fact that I workout so much. On the fly and because we were kind of bored, we decided it would be fun to go get some pregnancy tests and ice cream (thinking it was PMS and why not?)...so we did...we got home, she took her test, said "I'm good! You're turn" and I took my test...

Next thing I know, I'm shaking slightly from nerves (thought that was weird) and my stick...didn't look like hers...yep! that's right! within minutes there was shock, hugs, and screaming!  The boys came home shortly after, and all the sudden, his whole family new and we were still blown away!
Of course, me being well, me...I took like 5 tests that weekend just to make sure and I even got to tell my mom in person because she was in town visiting for New Year's!

This is one of the positive tests that I took at a local pregnancy clinic when we got home!

Here's our peanut at 8 weeks!

Since then, it seems like life has been full of craziness! We celebrated our 2 year anniversary just a week later!

Celebrated with sparkling cider ;)

In February when my mom came back to visit, we did an ultrasound with her good friend who works at a pregnancy clinic, our baby looked great at 12 weeks and my mom's friend even had a gender prediction! We posted this pictures on FB shortly after, to finally announce it to everyone else!

I love the BLUE and PINK we had going on!

Such a proud dad already!

Fast forwarding, in mid-March my mom's friend did another one and showed us our baby's "parts", but we decided not to announce it until our doctor also confirmed it, which she did just 3 weeks later! So....we're having...

     A GIRL!!!

Here's Macy with her sister's first shoes!!

We bought her first Aggie jacket last weekend!
I can't believe I didn't update on the blog sooner, but I was just pure WIPED OUT the first trimester! Grace of God I didn't deal with sickness or anything, just feeling VERY tired! I did get one stomach virus which I'm hoping means I've paid my sickness dues, because that was aweful!

Now I'm into my 2nd trimester and will be 20 weeks tomorrow! My belly has alos just now started to show, so I haven't taken many pictures of myself either. Now that you have all been updated, I will update reguarly throughout the rest of this journey and it is only going to get more exciting!

Thanks for catching up with me! I hope y'all enjoyed the pictures! Coming soon: a blog on our babymoon/my birthday weekend getaway/ Easter!

Thanks for reading!
