Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July everybody! It was a nice relaxing day here at the Hahn house. It was so calm that it didn't even seem like the 4th! Andrew worked all day and we had plans to go to a church party which got called off (our sweet pastor's wife was sick :( ). I spent the day baking and brought Andrew a peach dump cake at work for their dessert contest. And it came in 2nd place! After that I went to the pool to get my tan on. It was so hot that even the water was like bath water. Soooo nice! Once Andrew got home from work I had the whole house clean, laundry done, and we were ready to have a few friends over for some late night 4th of July fun!

As for this weekend, Andrew and I drove into Houston on friday night, spent the night with my grandparents, and enjoyed some quality time together. On Saturday, we got ready for....MY FIRST RED SOX game! Yes siree! So far, it was the highlight of my summer! I'm not exactly sure how I spent 18 years of my life in MA and I had never been to a game. and I LOVE the Red Sox...like, die hard fan. Regardless, the game on Saturday was AMAZING! Not only did we win, but I was beyond overjoyed to see all the players I always see on TV. It was such a sweet memory for Andrew and I. It was pretty cool to be at my first Sox game with my husband :) We had so much fun! We got a huge bowl of chili cheese fries, Andy got a giant beer, and I took so many pictures! The rest of our visit was so fast after that. We visited some more of my family and had breakfast on Sunday morning with Andrew's parents, then headed back home. Here's a few pictures from the game :)

                                             We were very excited :)

Me with our HUGE chili cheese fries

Red Sox fan and an Aggie! Best combo!

                                                We had pretty decent seats!

On Sunday, Andrew had to work for a few hours and I hit the gym and then we headed off to Bible study. What a fun weekend! It was so nice to have a few days off work and get to spend them with my husband! Now that my summer school is over (except my online class) I get to focus more on working and enjoying the rest of the summer. This week we're coming up on 6 months of marriage! Time really does fly! Hope y'all are having a great 4th with whatever your plans are! Thank God we live in such a great country! Happy Birthday America! Have a great week!

So Blessed!!

Okay, it's been about a month since I've last posted and I'm ashamed! Sorry all! Since then, we have had graduation parties, a wedding, and overall been busy with day to day life. Andrew and I both work a lot! Okay so he works about 40 and me about 35 (and I'm taking a few summer classes), so by the end of everyday we are wiped out! Especially with this Texas heat of 100 these last few weeks.

This last week has been especially nice and that is what I want to share with you! Up until this last week, I had been really lonely for my family and friends in Boston, especially because I miss having a bunch of girlfriends around. Andrew and I were also transitioning into the routine of both of us working so much and the business definitely took some getting used to! okay okay, so last week Andrew was off for a few days. He spent an overnight in Houston with his best friend (my cousins) and got to see his family. Although I really missed him, I knew it was good for him to get away for a day and spend some time with our loved ones. Maybe 10 minutes after he left for Houston, I was trying to not feel lonely and I got a phone call. One of his sweet aunts called me and we had such a great conversation. She told me how much her and the rest of his family love me, how glad they are that I'm his wife, how grateful they are to have me in their family, and said she prays for Andrew and I (and our marriage) daily. At the end of the conversation she prayed this wonderful prayer for me and it just made my night. It was as if God himself called me to reassure me that I am a good wife even though I didn't want my husband to leave for a night, and that I am loved. In that moment I felt so blessed to be a part of a new family who loves me and prays for us all the time!

The very next day I got a card in the mail from my grandmother with a very sweet note about how proud her and my grandad are of me, how they think of me daily, and to remind me that when I'm overwhelmed I can always go to Jesus. Also enclosed was a sweet bookmark with an encouraging note. After reading it and calling her to thank she, she further affirmed me, telling me they talk about me daily and pray for us all the time. She also reminded me that I may be in a place where I lack girlfriends, but I am not at all alone :)

Late that night, Andrew got back from Houston and I have never been more happy to see him. Even thought he was gone for a only a day, I realized just how much I need him and how glad I am to be married to him, my best friend. I'm pretty sure I missed him from the moment he drove away. O by the way, last week marked 5 months that we've been married, so that added to the sweetness of the week :)

This weekend was also full of fun for the two of us. On Saturday, we went to a wedding for my former roommate and good friend, Michal. We spent the morning running errands together and did a little shopping (which we never do) for our wedding clothes and it was so fun! It was about an hour away, so we rode with my other former roomies and they're sweet guys and had such a fun time. The day was full of lots of laughs, good catch up time, and we hung out until the early hours of Sunday morning.

My favorite roommates and sweet friends with the Bride!

Gorgeous Cake! And delicious!!

Me and the Hubs! I think he was trying to be silly with the serious face :)

                                                   LOVE :)

Andrew and I spent most of Sunday sleeping...I think we're getting old. We slept til almost noon, met up with our friends for lunch before they headed back out of town, and then came home and preceded to sleep til almost 7! I think the exhaustion of working a lot, the summer heat, and a busy weekend was just too much for us! We spent the night watching the NBA finals (yay for the Mavs!), eating leftover pizza, and playing Little Big Planet (our new bonding video game) :)

Okay, I know I've written a lot!! Sorry, I think this is what happens when you haven't blogged in a month! There's just so much more I want to write, but I'll spare y'all ;) So far, we're into another week and it's already been so nice! Monday morning Andrew surprised me with homemade waffles and even made dinner when I got off work! Today, we both worked and spent the evening helping our dear friends, Jeremy and Erin move into their new house! It was so nice to spend the night with our church family and get to bless them :) Ok, I have got to go to bed! I'm battling a slight cold (maybe allergies??) and I have class and work tomorrow!

I promise to update more often so y'all don't have to read another novel!! Happy Tuesday!

Happy Hump Day!

It's that time of the week! I'm so glad it's Wednesday! Here's what I'm loving this week!

I'm loving that this semester is officially over!!! I had my last final today and it's so nice to be done! I'm not even going to think about the fact that I am taking two summer classes :) This was my first semester being married and I was a little nervous about how I would handle being a wife (and all the responsibility that entails), working, and going to school...but I did great! With the help of Jesus, my encouraging husband, and wonderful family, it has been a successful semester!

This was taken last fall, but it's definitely a sweet memory from this past school year! My first of two senior years lol

I'm loving that today is my day off and it has been super productive! I spent the morning reviewing for my last final, then took my final (crossing my fingers that I did well), came home and cleaned the house (vacuuming, laundry, dishes, cleaned the kitchen floor, made the bed, etc etc), ate lunch, caught up with my Grandmother, and am now catching up with y'all! It's so nice to have a clean house and get to relax :)
I'm pretty sure I've decided that cleaning and working out our my two versions of therapy. They keep me sane and make me happy...maybe I'm weird? Anyone else do these to relieve stress??

This isn't my house, but it looks super clean just like my house feels! Plus I found this picture and I think if I could design a clean simple room, it would look kind of like this :)

I'm also LOVING my sweet kitty who jumps up on my bed every time I try to make it or break out the lint roller to get her hair off. It's like she knows I'm trying to clean and has to get in the way. Lucky for her, she's adorable and today every time she jumped up on the bed, she had her toy bird in her mouth so I would throw it and it gave my just enough time to make part of the bed before she came back again. Silly girl!

Macy playing with her mouse :) Isn't she adorable?!

Finally, I'm loving these scrubbies! My grandmother orders them from a friend of a friend who crochets them and they are amazing! They get pretty much anything off any surface without leaving scratch marks! I use them on my dishes, my bathroom, my kitchen floor (not the same scrubbie) and pretty much anywhere!

So those are just a few things that I'm loving this week! If you'd like to be part of WILW head over to This Kind of Love and link up! I love being part of WILW because it makes you take a few moments and think about the things around you that make you happy, even in the midst of busyness or even a bad day. Sure makes me happier by the end of my post :) So what are y'all loving this week??? Do tell!

Happy weekend and Mother's Day!

This weekend has come and gone so quickly! I can't believe it's already over! We had a really nice weekend and it was relaxing, yet productive. On Saturday we FINALLY got new tires for our Camry, which has been out of commission for 2 weeks due to two blown out tires. Because neither of us ever have a day off to deal with it, it's taken so long! I was off on Saturday and Andrew didn't work until 3, so we spent the morning dealing with the tire situation and getting our house clean! I am so grateful to have a husband who helps me out when I need it! He so kindly cleaned the cat box and vacuumed which was a tremendous blessing to me :)

Later that day, he went off to work and I hit the gym and went grocery shopping! I also was able to meet him on his dinner break, so we had a nice window of time together :)

Today has been really laid back for me. I got to lay out for a little while and hang at home with Macy while Andrew worked. I brought him lunch and we got to enjoy a Sonic happy hour!

This was my 4th mother's day not spending it with my mom because of the distance, but I did manage to get a sweet card out to her and a little gift. I am so grateful that God chose her to be my mom! She encourages me, inspires me, and is an amazing role model. She's a strong, confident woman who loves the Lord with all her heart and has been nothing but an amazing mother to me. As I've gotten older, and especially within the past year, we have become good friends and I LOVE that. It was so nice to have her visit recently because I got to hang out with her all weekend doing all kinds of girly things :) I could go on and on about her, but that would have forever. You get the picture: I love my mom and am so blessed that she's mine!

My beautiful mom at my bridal shower!

This week is just another week for the Hahns! We both work a lot and I have 1 final left! On Saturday, we'll be spending some time with my mom's side of the family for my cousin's graduation, so that will be nice. I hope you all had a great weekend and a happy mother's day!

What I'm Loving!

Happy hump day! It's that wonderful time of the week where I get to share with y'all what I'm loving right now!

I'm loving my new fonts for my post titles and dates! After many attempts, I finally figured out how to edit the HTML codes to make it work! Still working on my actual blog post fonts though!

I'm loving freeze pops! We bought some the other day when grocery shopping and they're so good! Best of all they have 5 calories and are wonderful at the end of a long, hot day!

I'm loving any and all time at the gym! It keeps me calm, gets rid of stress, and I feel so good!

I'm loving that school is almost done for the semester! I only have 1 final and it's not until next week, so I've spent this week working and working out, which has been so nice!

I'm loving dresses!! I recently bought a couple cute dresses and now I'm obsessed! They're so cute for summer, I can wear them to work, and they keep me cool (literally) :)

This is just one cute example of the summer dresses I want!

As always, I'm loving my wonderful husband! He works so hard for our family and I love coming home to him at the end of a long day. It's amazing to be married to my best friend! We laugh a lot and have so much fun just hanging out at home!

Isn't he so cute?! This was from our honeymoon :)

So that's a few things that I'm loving this week! How about y'all???

New Font!

Okay, this is me testing my new font! I've been playing with HTML codes with what seems like forever, with the hopes of changing fonts throughout my blog and making it cuter. So....hopefully it worked!

Happy Sunday!

Good afternoon!
I feel like it's been FOREVER since I've posted anything and it kind of has. These past few weeks have been so busy for us. Where to start...

I GOT MY AGGIE RING :) And o my gosh I LOVE it!

Hubby was proud of me :)

I dunked my ring in a margarita :) (For non-Aggies, dunking your ring in something-usually beer is part of school tradition...I don't like beer)

That day was so special! My mother and mother-in-law were both drove up and spent the day with us, doing all kinds of "Aggie" things. My mother in law took so many pictures from that day and I'll share some with y'all when she emails them to me. That weekend altogether went by so fast! I got to do all kinds of girl stuff with my mom (shopping, coffee, etc) and it was so neat to have her here in our home. I also had lunch with my uncles, aunts, and cousins, so it was definitely a family filled weekend! Since that weekend my weeks have been filled with exams, an insect collection project (ick!), papers, and presentations!

Andrew started getting sick the weekend my mom was in town and he continued to get worse with a sinus infection until this past week when it finally cleared up! Praise God! We did have a neat1st married Easter even with him not feeling so great! We drove to Houston for the day and spent almost the entire day with my dad's family doing all the typical Easter stuff...egg hunts, over eating, swimming, and spending time together. We also spent some time with my in laws on our way out of town (they were also sick!) and my mother in law surprised us with this

                                          An Easter basket!

She filled it with all kinds of yummy candy and put the two birds on there to be "love birds" :) (Which has become our cat's new toys :) It was such a neat surprise! We were both so busy that we didn't think to make each other baskets, so this worked out perfectly!

I can't believe this weekend's almost over! We had some good times with friends both Friday and Saturday night and went to lunch with some friends today. We both worked Saturday and Andrew worked another full day today. I also "worked" by means of the gym and a lot of house cleaning. Tonight we have a potluck and worship night with our church which will be fun!

Okay that's my attempt on a brief catch up post! I promise to try to post more often! Hope y'all are enjoying the sunshine today if you live near by! I know I am :)

Happy Sunday!

Okay so that's my effort on a brief catch up of what's been going on in the Hahn household

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I got the idea to do what I'm loving Wednesday from my sweet friend Kait (see her fabulous blog here!) who got it from Jamie! Link up with her to see what everyone else is loving :)

I'm LOVING that I get my Aggie ring in 2 days!!! Whoop! It feels like it's been a long time coming and boy does it feel GOOD! It took a lot of hard work to get me this far, but getting my ring feels like such an accomplishment. Plus I feel like I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel that is my journey to a bachelors degree.

Can't wait to have it on my finger!!!

I'm LOVING my wonderful in laws! This past weekend at Andrew's brother's wedding, I was reminded just how much I love my new family. I know I am so blessed to be welcomed into such a great family. Just last night I had a wonderful chat with my mother in law via facebook and had this moment where I thought, I know I'm blessed because not everyone has this kind of relationship. In fact, she's coming up to visit us on Friday and to see me get my ring!! I also adore my new siblings and father in law and love how I fit so well into their family :)

Here's my sweet mother in law and sister Jenny :)

I'm also LOVING the wonderful weather we've been having this week! It's been in the 80s but fairly dry and beautiful outside. It's been one of those weeks I don't mind walking everywhere on campus because it's so nice to be outside in the fresh air! I did get over ambitious on Sunday and laid out for a few hours...needless to say, the Texas sun fried me completely, so I've spent this week looking like a lobster.

I'm LOVING my sweet kitty Macy. She's always at the door when I come home and just wants to play and cuddle. I love how she "talks" to us. She meows and we meow back and this goes on and on like we're having a conversation. We truly are so blessed to have her in our little family.

Well, that's just some of the many things I'm loving this week!

So...What are you loving today?

Our first post!

 Hello All!

This is the very first post and I'm so excited! I thought that by keeping a blog it would allow our family and friends to keep up with us during our first year of marriage and beyond :) Andrew and I are newlyweds and have been married 3 months (as of yesterday!) and are loving every minute of it!
This is one of the millions of amazing pictures we have from our wedding day!

I thought I'd start the blog off by updating everyone on what we've been up to these last 3 months. After the wedding, we spent a WONDERFUL honeymoon in San Francisco, which was so much fun! Although we got married in January and it was cold out there, we still did all the site seeing, chowder eating, and walking we could and made lots of fun memories. After our honeymoon we settled back home in the Bryan College Station area of Texas. Since then school started up and we both continue to work like crazy. Although I'm a senior by hours, I still have another year left (due to changing majors last year!) and Andrew is also taking classes (his all online since he works full time).

Us at the Ghiradelli factory in San Fran!

Our newest married moments have been our first Valentines Day together, which was so very special! Andrew woke me very early that morning to give me tons of candy, my favorite latte, roses, and donuts! It made for a very "sweet" day! :) Also, my birthday was just a few weeks ago and I was suprised with flowers at work (from the hubby) as well as a cake and presents from my girls at work. Later on, we shared a wonderful dinner with friends and had more cake and presents! I felt so blessed and loved on! It was truly a great 1st married birthday!

O and I can't forget our newest addition to our family, MACY!!! She is a Siamese Lynx mix kitty and the cutest thing ever! We adopted her from a local shelter here and fell in love with her! I knew it was meant to be because I'm not a cat person and I am literally obsessed with my baby :)

Here's Macy when she first discovered my homework! She's obsessed with paper by the way! I might just go buy her her own notebook :)

Yesterday, on our 3 month anniversary, we celebrated Andrew's brother's wedding, which was really special! It was neat to be at a wedding and be the married people! It was great to see lots of family and get to ring in another celebration, although today we were both wiped out (and Andy worked all day ).

Well, that's the briefest update I can give! A lot has gone on since we've been married. We both agree that we love married life and feel so blessed. Our wedding was such a blessing and we have truly felt blessed ever since, by family, friends, and God. We actually just finished up an 8 week marriage course at our church, which we felt was so great to do especially as newlyweds. It definitely enriched our marriage even more and challenged us to always keeping working on our marriage.

In terms of near future events, I get my AGGIE RING next week and am beyond thrilled!!! If you are an Aggie you know how big of a deal this is :) My mom is flying in and everything! I am also so excited to get to have her as house guest! I think it will be such a treat! We're looking forward to cooking together and sitting a drinking coffee and just getting sweet time to visit. For those of you who don't know, my parents and brother live in the northeast, so anytime I ever get to see them it's a huge deal! The rest of my family and almost all of Andrew's live in the Houston area, so at least we are closer in distance to them. For now, we love where we live and the way are life is right now. Yes we're in school and work, but it's been a really neat experience for us. Our days are busy, but there's nothing like not having to say goodnight and drive home anymore. I love waking up next to him and we are excited for the plans God has for us in the future!

Ok, I'll wrap this up! I promise these entries won't always be so long! We hope y'all enjoy following us and what is going on in our day to day life together. I'm excited to have this blog as a keep sake for us, so we can look back on it down the road and remember this special time we had in our first year of marriage! I hope to blog often and I'll do my best to keep y'all updated!

Until next time,

Mrs. Hahn :)
